I would like to be with you, as the flowers gather the fire with soft hands, encircling the glory. When the sun starts her descent, I want to find you, and share one more sunset with you.

I pour sparkling water into a bowl that cradles three magenta chrysanthemums, and I am filled with wonder. I breathe it in as a million tiny bubbles cling to the edges of fragile petals, piling up on the green stems, crowding each other until they release, one by one, to the surface. I will never tire of these glimpses of glory, these pockets of joy that God has sewn into the moments of my everyday life. I continue to be surprised by them, even though I find them daily. Tonight I am grateful for the simplicity of this gift, and the wonder it instills. May I never get over the wonder.

Canon 5D Mark ll, 24-70L, 3.5 aperture, 1/250 shutter, 100 ISO

When I don’t know what to do, when I am tired, when I am empty and dry in my deepest places, I look for the light. Sometimes I see it right away, and sometimes I have to seek it out. Once I find it, I move to where it is focused and shining the brightest.

That is where the glory lies. I search it out like treasure, and when I find it, my heart lunges forward to capture it, to hold it, to dance in it. I am a glory seeker. Because the glory is where God dwells. He puts in on like a cloak, He speaks it into being, and breathes it into our world. It is the manifestation of His presence. The glory.

When I began this project in January, I had no idea I was placing myself directly on a path to seek and find God in my everyday moments. I just wanted to capture beautiful images, to be inspired and inspire others. But how could I do that and not seek God first in this journey? He alone holds the beauty that I seek. Therefore, this project has put me on a direct course to search out God and the places He makes Himself known, every day. Every day. I am always thinking about it. It has changed me. I see Him everywhere now. And yet, I want more. I want to see Him more, to tell His story, again and again through images. Through the work of my feeble but desperate hands.

May you see the Glory today. He is everywhere.

I mean rained. It was a down kind of day and I felt in a fog myself, so blah and numb in my spirit. I worked processing photos all day and went to bed just tired to my core. When I awoke yesterday, it was as if someone had turned on a light switch. I walked outside as the sun was just coming through the trees and could hear the previous day’s rain dripping from the trees. It was like grief was dripping off the leaves to reveal the brilliance of light and hope. There is something so magical that happens when water and light meet. I immediately put on my boots, grabbed my camera and two lenses, and headed down to the back pasture. It was like coming home. This is how I spent so many of my mornings in my early journey with photography, talking to God and capturing His glory, as best I could, with my camera. I could feel my spirit breathing and my heart enlarging as I talked with my Creator, telling Him how much I loved the goodness of His creation. He is so unique in how He does things. Amazing how many minute details show up early in the morning as the dew is still clinging to them. Even the little spider webs were visible. Our God is such a God of details.

Yeah, like coming home. It reminds me of this scripture ” weeping may remain for a night, but rejoicing comes in the morning” ~Psalm 30:5

I hope you enjoy the bits of glory that I was able to capture~
