365 Project Day 272: Let it Rain
Posted on 30. Sep, 2011 by maryanne.
Canon 5D Mark ll, 50 1.2L, 2.2 aperture, 1/100 shutter, 320 ISO
(In these images is the lovely LeeAnna Hoffman and her fiancé, Scott Channell. They are an amazing couple with one of the best love stories I have ever heard. Once they are married they will head to Hawaii with YWAM. They are both missionaries at heart. Love them.:))
It all started with an image I saw on Pinterest. It looked like it was straight out of the movie The Notebook. If you have seen the movie, you know about the famous rain scene. Who can resist the raw emotion and passion depicted in that scene? Every girl wants to live it. I wanted to try shooting it, but needed a willing couple. Enter LeeAnna and Scott, two artistic young lovebirds about to be married, and willing to try something new for the fun of it. They agreed to go out on a limb with me. The problem was I needed rain, and it wasn’t in the forecast. I put an inquiry out on twitter about creating rain for a photo shoot. It wasn’t long before a couple friends sent a suggestion on how to make a rain-maker. Johnny put it all together in a couple hours today, and the results were fantastic. I am including a few images from his creative process below, as well as some more stunning rain images.
Thank you LeeAnna and Scott for going on this adventure with me, and thank you Johnny for building it!
What you will need for your own rain-maker:
2 2×6 boards placed crossed over one another and screwed together at the center
4 1×2 pieces of wood used as braces around the center of the cross
50 foot garden hose
32 plastic zip ties
drill
long piece of rope to secure it in the tree you will be placing it in
end cap for the hose
One sweet young man to build it for you if you can’t figure it out.:)
And then you have this. Because love should be passionate, and because the best line of all time is “Hey, rain looks good on you.”.

I had so much fun photographing Josh and Emily for their engagement session! They are such a wonderful couple, and so in love. We went back to Tannery Row Artist Gallery where he asked her to marry him. It is such a sweet story and you can read about it here. Check it out! So sweet. Enjoy their photos of our day together!

Cory and Cami are engaged!
Posted on 27. Jan, 2010 by maryanne.
Annie and I had SO much fun shooting Cory and Cami’s engagement photos at Piedmont Park last weekend. Before the shoot, we did some dreaming about what they wanted to do and what they loved. Eventually, we landed on the whole idea of doing a vintage shoot. I was so excited as that was something I have really wanting to try. It was something we did at Love Affair this last fall. ( wow did I LOVE that workshop!) I had been wanting to try some new things but hadn’t had any real takers with my couples. Then came Cory and Cami! I love this couple! They are so fun and enjoy each other and life so much. This is part of what makes my life so enjoyable. Working with wonderful people who so openly and comfortably love one another.
I never had to pose them. We just gave them a few props and let them go. They did the rest.
I pray many blessings on this beautiful and sweet couple and am so thankful I get to shoot their upcoming wedding in March.
Enjoy their sweet pictures~

I adore this couple and am so happy to be part of their journey towards marital bliss. They are so wonderful on so many levels and a joy to be with. This post is a bit overdue as we shot these over the summer! We had so much fun! I am looking forward to their wedding next May. Blessings and joy, Scott and Lauren. Breathe and enjoy this season as much as you can.

Jeremy and Jasmine
Posted on 07. Sep, 2009 by maryanne.
Jeremy and Jasmine are the cutest. I absolutely loved my time with them last week. The first destination for our shoot was Chow Baby, a restaurant in Atlanta where they had their first date. The manager there was kind enough to allow us to come in before the lunch rush to get some special shots.
From there we just explored. We found all kinds of delightful places in Atlanta, including an old yellow caboose in a metal junk yard. We had so much fun!
Blessings, you guys. I can’t wait to be part of your special day in November. To be continued…
