365 2014 Day 54 Not so Fast

February 25, 2014
Peaceful Winter

Peaceful Winter

Not so fast, Winter. Where do you think you are off to? I am not ready to relinquish the peaceful days of quiet that you bring. How I loved your cold nights that forced us indoors and gathered us around warm fires and hot soup. I will miss your winter trees that elegantly framed the clear night skies. I am not ready for the busyness that comes with warmth and sunshine. I need just a little more time to gaze upon winter stars, and to glide silently across snowy pastures on that old sled.  I felt loved in your deep lullaby. Your sweet hush-hushing gave me permission to rest. Must the spring flowers push through so soon?

If you want to linger, I won’t mind.

Amen to that! I live in Colorado and LOVE wintertime. A nice chill in the air and a hoodie to wear. Perfection.

I so agree. Winter holds a unique beauty all it’s own, and you have captured it so well in both words and photographs.

Thank you for sharing your art. I feel refreshed when I come here. Your gift is a blessing!

Beautifully said Maryanne! We hurry the Seasons to where we really do not take the time to enjoy them the way we should. This cold Winter is going to make us appreciate the coming Spring though. Loved the pictures!
