Day 2 Love Note

 

There is no need to overthink it. God sent me a love note today.

While walking with Chris on our 3 mile walk today I saw a red heart-shaped leaf glimmering in the light. It was singularly suspended in direct sunlight. I stopped in my tracks. “Look!” I exclaimed. “A heart!” Not having my camera with me I told Chris I had to come back.

Upon my return I looked more closely at the leaf. It was not attached to a branch like I previously thought. It was literally held by the thorns of a vine that was winding around the tree; love willingly ensnared by thorns and brilliantly displayed. I immediately thought of my Jesus held on a cross and crowned with thorns.

All for love.

I looked around and could find no other red leaves in the shape of a heart anywhere. I knew he sent this to me- to tell me about him. To tell me about me. He is so kind.

Is it so hard to believe that God would suspend a heart in a tree for me to find at this exact time? No. He made all things and he cares so deeply about us.

What love notes are you missing because you forgot to stop and look? He loves you so. It is his joy to show you in immeasurable ways.
