Day 54 Worship

February 24, 2017

Worship

Its a double blog day for me as I missed posting again last night. I am having computer issues but they should be resolved soon. Also, I am posting a few more images from day 53 as I cannot stop looking at these images.

They speak so much to me about worship.

First, if you don’t know what’s happening in these images, I had my daughter Katie and her friend Danielle dance in flour on my driveway. I love flour photography because the powder from the flour catches the light and creates such drama and magic. I added some color to the flour in photoshop because I think it adds to the mystery and beauty of the images.

But back to worship. For 12 years I led a dance ministry at my church. It was a beautiful and rich season for me. God taught me so much about community and seeking him through worship during that season. Danielle and Katie were both part of that team. When I see these images I am taken back there and how he taught us all how he inhabits our worship. Like the flour, his spirit is stirred up as we give our hearts to him in adoration. It is a beautiful mystery.

One night as we were preparing for a night of worship a great cloud entered the sanctuary. At that time it was just the dance team in the sanctuary. We were in awe. No one could explain it away. We knew God was inhabiting our worship. It was so thrilling to our hearts.

He has not changed. He is still living and breathing in the worship of his people. His spirit is stirred when we open and surrender our hearts to him.

Psalm 95:6,7 ~”Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker; for he is our God and we are the people of his pasture, the flock under his care.”
