Day 12 Including Indiana

Three Puppies

After last night’s melancholy post I thought it might be nice to lighten things up around here. When I posted Janey and June on Day 9 of this project I didn’t include our Indiana Appleseeed (pictured center). She is a special dog and I thought we needed a reshoot to include her. I set up a makeshift studio in the basement tonight and photographed all three. (Treats were definitely involved.)

Annie wrote something sweet about Indiana today on her instagram and I thought it would be nice to include her words here. She is a gifted writer and she loves Indiana.:)

She writes “This is my favorite dog and walking partner, Indiana. She’s the size of a smallish corgi, but when she sees big scary German Shepherds barking on the horizon, she runs toward them and demands their respect. And no joke, those big dogs literally run the other way when they see Indiana coming. She’d rather risk her safety than get told how to feel by some bigger, louder dog. When she’s sprinting toward them, I always wish I could just capture the way it looks: ears tossed back and little legs just galumphing away, nose to the wind. Today, I’m thankful God gives me little reminders of how joyful fearlessness can be. I wanna be more like my dog when I grow up.”

We could all learn a lesson from Indiana Appleseed (aka Independent Sunshine – her original name given to her by Annie). We all just call her Indie. There is not another dog like her.

Blessings tonight. I am keeping it light and getting some rest.

xoxo
