365 Project 2017

365 Day 1 Believe and Begin Again

Believe and Begin

It is with some trepidation that I am beginning yet another 365 project. I have only successfully completed one so far and that was in 2011.

However, I know in my heart that it is not only okay but powerfully good to believe and begin again. Even though it is very difficult to complete a 365 project, I believe I am the best version of myself when I am seeking everyday beauty and writing about it.

It has been a hard season. I lost both of my parents within 2 years of each other. I have battled a physical addiction to an anti-anxiety drug and won (with God’s help). I broke my arm (after falling while carrying laundry) and photographed two weddings while wearing a cast. I still break out in a sweat thinking about all of that. And yet, God has been so very kind to me. Unbelievably kind.

I am here again to count the gifts.

Sure enough I may fail, but that is okay. I recently heard someone share a story about how we as parents never scold our children about falling down when they are learning to walk. Instead, we cheer and encourage them, our hearts bursting with their every step. This is how our God is. He is a good Father, laughing and cheering us on. I can hear him now saying, “Yes, Mary Anne, let’s do this. I am with you.”

And he is with you too.

Big deep breath. Let’s believe and begin again. Ready?
