Sweet Ranunculus

I love this flower. Ranunculus as  been one of my favorites for some time now. It is lovely to photograph, but also nice arrange and play with in different settings. They have a vintage heirloom quality that feels special and sweet. My friend Denise knows I love them and brought them to me last week. I had just barely finished photographing them  before Janey decided to have her puppies. She was 3 days early so I wasn’t quite ready.

My world has been at a complete stand still ever since. All work, all coming and going has come to a temporary halt as I care for my Janey dog and her pups. She will not stay in her box with them if I leave the basement (she is very attached to me) and so I have been camping out down there. I even sleep down there to help her at night in case she or the puppies get into trouble. I am feeling a bit closed in and lonely.  I don’t expect this stage to last very long and soon I will be working away again, so I am trying to be patient and just enjoy the sweetness of her tiny puppies.

I wanted to share these images of the ranunculus before they got lost in the puppy shuffle though.  Aren’t they lovely? Don’t fret, this blog will be filled with puppy pictures before you know it. If I can get back to shooting and working again that is.

For now it is back to the sofa by Janey’s puppy box. I will fall to sleep to the sweet sound of puppy cooing again tonight. (I am glamorizing it a bit. I would really like 8 hours of sleep soon.)

Blessings, and I hope to back here very soon. Who knows if I will even break 100 on this 365 project? I am letting that worry go now.

I am counting gifts again tonight, from the perfectly layered ranunculus petals to the soft squeals of puppies in my house. It is all wonderful and I am grateful the great giver of all good things.

James 1:17~ “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.”

Where do you find these flowers? They remind me of peonies, that my mom loved and so do I.
