365 2014 Day 48 Portrait of a Husband

Intensity

Intensity

I love this image of my husband. It shows a side of him that only those close to him get to see. He is a man of conviction. He believes deeply in God and is intense in his pursuit of him. His whole life is shaped around this wild chasing. Honestly, it is why I fell for him. I had never met another man like him before. He knew what he believed and it was non negotiable — not for money, not for things, and not for me. I felt safe with him. “Finally” I thought to myself, “a man I can follow”.

And I did.

This is the man who went to dig ditches (literally) when we found out we were pregnant the first month we were married and we had no insurance. This is the man who worked 12 hour days at the car lot when he would haver rather been pursuing ministry and music. Just so we could eat. This is the same man who fasted and prayed continually when I was very ill and we were not sure I would ever recover.  And after we lost our baby boy, this same man held and whispered cords of comfort around me when I thought I would float away into the darkness. He never let me go.

This is the kind of man I could spend a lifetime with. It is my desire and commitment to do just that.

I swoon over this man of mine.

Psalm 1:2,3 ~

“But his delight is in the law of the Lord,
And in His law he meditates day and night.
He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water,
Which yields its fruit in its season
And its leaf does not wither;
And in whatever he does, he prospers.”

What an incredible tribute to your husband. The photographs do such justice to the honor of the man from his wife and fellow so-journer. You have certainly displayed a rare picture in these days in which we live. Thank you for sharing with a watching world. God’s blessings on you both.

Wow!! What a beautiful tribute to a man whom
God gave me the privilege of raising as my son.
I have to say my son is blessed to have a mate that
Loves and honors him as you do. I’m glad we married
    You….

This is AWESOME! I knew Chris when he was a little boy. Not only are the photographs perfect (and how could they not be with such a handsome man 🙂 but by the way you expressed your feelings and emotions about him in words, I have no doubt you are both blessed to have each other..
