365 Project Day 28: Absorbed

January 29, 2011

Absorbed

Canon 5D Mark ll, 70-200L, 5.6 aperture, 1/160 shutter, 200 ISO, Alien B800 to left front of subjects at 1/16 in a  large softbox

So, yes, a little different today. Annie came home for the weekend. There is always a little more color in our lives when Annie comes home. She just brings it with her. If you know her, I am sure you will agree.

Katie did the art on their faces, and the art behind them is by my brother, Dan. I just love how they look like they are getting absorbed into the painting. I know, I have amazing kids. They actually dreamed this up and helped put it together. Most of the time all I have to do is have my camera (and lights) at the ready.

Hope there is lots of color in your world today. See you tomorrow!

Very creative! I am sure Dan will be impressed that they used his art as an inspiration.

First of all, ridiculous cool image.

I look at this and it reminds me that God is painting an epic picture and we are “absorbed” into the picture through redemption. More than absorbed though, we are actually part of the picture. It is one of the ways I bring meaning to this word “Glory”. His painting upon us bestows deep meaning on us . . . we become carriers of his weight and significance. This sounds heavy but that’s what I love about the image. Its more color and life than it is heavy “We were once darkness but now we are light.”
Today is a good day – He is the fullness of all things and we are his body . . . color and light in the canvas of his passion.

Man! I really do want to come “play at your house” one day. Let’s do lunch or something one day! I would love to chat with you!

Hi Amy.:) I always love it when you stop by. About the camera and the water, I didn’t get it soaked, just a bit muddy. I try hard to keep it covered in these situations, but I don’t want to miss out either. The 5D Markll is pretty hardy.:) As far as your coming out, let’s do it! Maybe when the weather is a bit nicer? Oh, and let’s do lunch asap. Email me and we can schedule it. maryannemorgan@mac.com

      Blessings to you!
      Mary Anne
