This is Oliver Scotto and his nephew Anthony, outside the restaurant that he and his brother Luigi, own and operate. I met them tonight when I saw Anthony’s really awesome Vespa outside Italy’s Pizza & Pasta in Hamilton Mill. I wanted to photograph it, and then when I saw him outside I got excited about meeting someone new and getting another image of a stranger. The cool thing about meeting strangers is after a minute or two, they are not strangers anymore! Oliver and his brother Luigi are so genuine and pleasant to talk to. Anthony is Luigi’s son. He is so sweet! (Unfortunately, I did not get a photo of Luigi.) They both came to the states just over 10 years ago and started this same restaurant in Flowery Branch. I loved watching them close up shop for the evening, with the door of the restaurant open, letting in the summer air. There is something wonderful about brothers working together like that. I could tell they take pride in what they do.
Oliver will be getting married in November. He said he may use his cool vespa in his engagement photos. I hope I get the chance to do those for him!
